Teen-ish. OMG. Die.

Im asking for guidance from the starsa. Is it just me or there's really something wrong with teeners these days. Not all of them- thank heavens for leaving some of the good ones. But most of them speak in a certain kind of accent that annoys me. Not one sentence would go without the words like, uhm, like, OMG and super. Im not that old, but really, how different it would be if they drop all the excesses that dont really make sense and talk properly, the way human beings are supposed to.

I have nothing against optimism and yes, a bit of it boosts our day but there is a big difference with screaming over a million in the lottery and three girls screamng and prattling over a bag sale. Did i mention overreacting?  How about annoying?

Okay. So I am reminded I was a teenager once and no matter what I say, there's no such thing as twenteen. haha. I've had my share of kabaduyan that well, sounds like a different posting, but I've always had great respect for the language and great belief in the power of words. Of course there came times of ribald and prate- and those were times not worth remembering, but Im lucky to have friends and people around me who are never abashed to embarass me every time. See, I told you I appreciate all of that. :)

It's not exactly the way they sound when they talk that concerns me. More than that, I am worried of what language have become and how it is being used today. Social networking sites, shortened terms instead of actual words, increasing number of people who doesnt know how to spell, too much excesses. Whatever happened to basic English proficiency units?

One of my friends posted that this year, one of her efforts would be to encourage other people to stop bludgeoning the language. Go Mina! haha. Isn't it about time we do something about it? Seriously.

So there. That was a major rant and you're probably tired of me whining about things. But I hope things won't with me just whining. Do you know a campaign or project relevant to my cause? Send me comment or a message. I'd be glad to help.

'AYT?
hahaha. Kidding, okay? :)
